PYP Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2016-17 @ CIFS


The Investiture Ceremony of IB PYP was held with a high degree of sincerity and enthusiasm. Honorable Chief Guest Mr. A.S. Sikand (Sports Coordinator, LWES) and Principal Mr. Stanley Anthony conferred the badges and sash to the elected students.  With pride and a sense of achievement surging in their hearts, the students stepped towards oath taking ceremony where they followed the PYP student council President – Rhea Gupta, urging the new Council to have a clear conscience while delineating their duties. The PYP Student Council consists of: Sunmeet Kaur as Vice President, Ridham as Discipline Incharge, Harshpreet Kaur as Organiser, Simerjeet Singh as Treasurer.

PYP Kindergarten Orientation!

PYP Kindergarten orientation was conducted on 4th May 2016. Parents were made acquainted with education policies that are employed in the PYP curriculum. Some general points of Do’s and Don’ts were discussed with the parents. It was an interactive session. The items prepared by the students on Empathy Day were also put on sale for visiting parents. 












Parent Orientation Programme

"Parent is child's first teacher"
To know the best about a student its necessary to develop a relationship with parents, which further brings different perspectives to growth and development of the child.

Therefore, a Parent Orientation Programme was conducted for parents of students of Grades 1 to 5 on 29.04.16 in the school premises to share concerns, suggestions and answer queries. It was an open session where our PYP Head and Education Director Ms. Meenu Huria introduced the IB PYP team and ado various addressed to various issues of concern coming up from the parents.

Overall the session was an eye-opener for new as well as old parents and brought in great clarity about the Primary Years Programme.

Calligraphy - an artistic representation of letters

Class wise Calligraphy competition was held for IB PYP grades 1 to 5 on 13-04-16....the auspicious day of Baisakhi.
Students were given a paragraph on the importance of the festival and they had to artistically copy the same.

Empathy Day

Empathy the feeling of being in someone else ' s shoes.

The day 18th April , every year is celebrated as Empathy day at Cambridge. Students were made realized the meaning of the word Empathy through an inspirational and motivating Video. The video worked as a great provocation which led them to doing something which can be of help to others.
So the students planned to create some artwork like paper bags and necklaces , sell and earn money to be donated to a NGO - APAAR.

PYP Student Council Elections 2016-17

Another year to begin and move forward with vigor , to raise the enthusiasm and to wake up to look for energetic personalities out of the crowd.

The PYP student council elections were held on 28-04-16. Students realized the importance and meaning of Voting and choosing a leader. Ballot Boxes were created and placed at respective booths with labels for the posts of President, Vice president, treasurer, organizer, discipline in charge.
Students and teachers voted with great excitement and curiousity to know from each other about their choice of leader.





Oye Balle balle !!!! Nachiye Tapiye Gaayi ye....aayi baisakhi


Baisakhi - the festival of harvest marking the advent of the Indian new year brings in a lot of joy and energy for all of us. The sweet smell of spring and the cool breeze blowing in prompts the vigor and enthusiasm inside us to Celebrate  the first day of the new year.

Keeping their spirits high, the students of IB PYP at Cambridge sang and danced to different Punjabi tunes. Performances included provocations and inquiries on the processing of wheat grains to make eheat flour followed by poem recitation song and dance performances. The USP of the day was GIDHA performance by the girls of KG2.
